Chipping Glue is used in the process of chipping glass. The glass firstly needs etching to give a “tooth” for the chipping glue to adhere to. The chipping glue will slowly start to dry and as it dries it shrinks causing pressure on the glass surface which eventually causes shards of glass attached to the glue to chip away leaving random patterns. Once this process has finished you can then gild the glass with gold leaf , giving a fantastic finish. Alternatively translucent paints can be used.
